The Central Bureau of Investigation appears to be going in only one direction, whether it is in the case of mining tycoon Gali Janardhan Reddy or Emaar-MGF township scandal or the illegal assets case of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy.
According to the YSR Congress party leaders, the mission of the CBI is to fix Jagan in any of or all the three scandals directly or indirectly.
The final target of the CBI authorities is only to finish Jagan politically as well as economically; and so, they have been collecting only those evidences that ultimately lead to the target. If they don’t find proper evidences, they are trying to create evidences either in the form of statements from the arrested leaders or misinterpreting the documents.
“The CBI authorities have so far not found any piece of evidence directly against Jagan. So, they are arresting or harassing the key persons around him, so as to trouble Jagan politically and damage his image in public,” a party source said.
Ironically, the CBI authorities have not made any attempt so far to either question or arrest any of the Telugu Desam Party leaders, though the roots of these so-called scams were there since the regime of former Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.
“It was Naidu who had given the first lease to Gali Janardhan Reddy’s Obulapuram Mining Company and brought in Emaar Properties to develop the Gachibowli land. Irrespective of whether he had indulged in any scam or not, the CBI officials should have at least questioned him or investigated into his role. Even the officials of the Naidu regime involved in these deals were not questioned,” the YSR Congress leader pointed out.
