As Sharmila started her padayatra at Idupulapaya, the Congress suffered a jolt as two of its senior leaders including District Central Cooperative Bank chairman Karatam Rambabu and Chinthalapudi MLA Maddala Rajesh hinted at joining the YSR Congress in West Godavari on Thursday.
The two leaders, along with their supporters, held a meeting at Vegavaram village of Jangareddygudem mandal, during which they expressed their intention to join the YSR Congress.
Rambabu was unhappy when he failed to get the nomination of his choice to contest in the Polavaram bypolls.
