Vijayamma’s deeksha in Eluru today

Eluru: All arrangements are in place for the proposed ‘two-day ‘Feezu Poru’ protest by YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) honorary president and Pulivendula legislator YS Vijjayamma seeking implementation of the fee reimbursement scheme at Exhibition Grounds here on August 13.
Senior YSRCP leader YV Subba Reddy monitored the arrangements along with other party leaders here on Sunday.
Speaking to newsmen, he informed that YS Vijayamma would commence the protest at 10.30 am and continue the deeksha till 5 pm on August 14.
She would also inaugurate the newly constructed party office building on August 14.
Polavaram MLA T Balaraju, Eluru MLA Alla Nani and former MLA Mudunuri Prasad Raju visited the protest site.
Vijayawada: The local YSR C o n g r e s s P a r t y (YSRCP)leaders are busy in mobilising crowds to be present at the proposed two-day ‘feezu poru’ protest, which would commence on August 13 in Eluru, by YSRCP honorary president and Pulivendula legislator YS Vijjayamma seeking implementation of the fee reimbursement scheme.
Initially the protest was scheduled to be held by the party on August 12 and 13.
However, YS Vijayamma postponed the agitation by one day in the wake of request from students and officials as the Group-IV exam was to be held on August 12.
According to party sources, the protest demonstration was planned as the fee reimbursement scheme, which was introduced by the late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy to benefit poor students in pursuing higher education, was being diluted. Former MLA and senior leader of YSRCP Jaleel Khan is planning to take out a huge motor bike rally from
Vijayawada to Eluru to express solidarity with YS Vijayamma.
Speaking to newsmen, he said that large number of party supporters would take part in the rally.
He appealed to parents and students to extend their support to YS Vijayamma to bring pressure on the government to release pending funds up to Rs 500 crore for the scheme in the State. He exuded confidence that YSRCP would come to power in 2014 Assembly elections as the people, who were vexed with the ruling government, were looking forward to have a government which could continue welfare schemes introduced during YS Rajasekhar Reddy regime.
